About the Role:
- Position: Dental Nurse
- Employment Type: Fixed-term contract (until 1st December) – potential for a permanent role
- Schedule: 30 hours per week (Tuesdays & Thursdays, plus Saturday OR Sunday)
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM (Weekdays), 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Saturday)
- Hourly Rate: Up to £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Practice Type: Private
- Start Date: ASAP
As a Dental Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing chairside assistance during general dentistry, cosmetic procedures, Invisalign, implants, and oral surgery
- Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments and materials meet high infection control standards
- Performing manual instrument washing, sterilization, and decontamination using an autoclave
- Taking and processing dental X-rays (training provided if required)
- Ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience throughout treatments
- Maintaining and updating patient records accurately
- Occasionally assisting at the reception desk, handling appointment bookings and patient enquiries if needed
- Working closely with the wider dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed Dental Nurse who is eager to contribute to a dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have:
- GDC Registration – desirable, but open to trainee nurses.
- Experience in general dentistry (additional experience in implants, orthodontics, endodontics, or oral surgery is highly desirable)
- Knowledge of manual instrument washing, X-ray processing, and chairside assistance (training provided if needed)
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist (preferred but not essential)
- Familiarity with Dentally software (desirable)
- A proactive and hands-on approach, ready to support the team in all aspects of the role
- Strong communication skills with an excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
- A local candidate who can commute easily to the practice
